If that makes you feel bad, take a look at Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. A disorganised mix of access methods, and went around breaking people's requests randomly with 403's and accusing them of screen-scraping even when accessing json. (Some getting hit with at just 1 request/day) Emails to them resulted in replies asking to instead use their FTP. Additionally they're one of the few Australian Gov agencies that still don't have proper https deployment yet. |
