I'm not sure what the hype is about. It's another chess bot that's not as good as the best. There are so many of these already. Is it because it has a cute name and avatar?

Yes, someone realized that marketing still works on everyone, and decided to put some legwork into promoting their chess bot.

I'm surprised it took so long too.

I would have expected to see AI versions of well known grandmasters and other notable figures to drive users to these chess sites.
