What if you turned it from a solitary activity to a pair activity. e.g. ask a trusted peer to take notes as you explain the design of your system with whiteboard. Then clean up the notes and drawings. The peer could also point out issues or common questions in real time allowing your doc to address them proactively.

It's not really feasible, I would need a full time assistant basically, I am writing a lot of documents :D

But I think it would be a double-edged sword. It would help to get the words down on paper, but I would not be able to progress if I see that what they're writing is not "clean" enough.
