A few things that are well-covered in this thread, but my personal favorite is PicoShare. It is a nice, simple self-hosted file sharing app that fixes a lot of issues with other solutions. Email has size limitations. Many services don't like to share .exe files. Some will apply compression (unlisted youtube videos).
