- You may get feedback on the idea you posted, this could from more experienced people than you and people who deal with your idea. - Valuable insights. - See if the idea or your thoughts have already been executed, you can learn a lot from public thinking.

Now of course, if your idea is very good someone who has more resources than you can implement it. So you can publicly think until you get enough knowledge to get a good idea and then privately think about that.
