People who may have bought Teslas in the past at least partly for virtue-signalling are now buying cars built by other manufacturers as a virtue signal against Musk, now they have decided Rocket Man Bad. Some of the car companies used for the virtue signal have histories that are demonstrably worse than anything Musk has done to hurt people's feelings on Twitter, making the virtue signal attempts amusing.
