Ask HN: Stripe alternative (We got blocked before starting)
9 points by qocial 1272 days ago
Hi HackerNews,

Stripe blocked our account even before we could start using them, citing terms of service issue.

We are SuperApp with a marketplace where we allow buyers and sellers of permitted businesses to buy and sell physical products, physical/digital services (exact matching stripe with stripe supported company)

Yet we got blocked; I have emailed Patrick (Founder of the stripe) for help as well. Not sure if he would be available to answer anytime soon during the holidays.

Do we have any alternative that matches the stripe fees, pricing and community around?

Thanks

There is a guy at stripe that has saved the day for me in the past. He usually comments on posts like these. His name is Edwin. You might just want to wait a few days until after the holiday and see if you get your problem fixed. Stripe is a great tool. Difficult to truly replace.
I don't think it would occur to me to email the founder of a multi-billion dollar corporation for personal account support, on Christmas. Sorry to hear about your troubles though. Hope you get it sorted out.
Even if they unblock your account, what makes you think they won't block it again in the future?
Update: Thanks for HackerNews; my account has been re-activated.

I received an email citing it was mistakenly identified. This was an important email, and I would like to thank million times to Stripe. Thank you Stripe <3

What was the ToS issue?

Yoy may try Square, FastSpring and Paddle.

They haven't provided any information on that; they just marked and blocked citing terms of service issue.

We have an in-app wallet feature to our users, but that is critical as it's not recommended to refunds and pay again to other merchants with new transaction fees. We do have a withdrawal option for just in case, if user wants it.

Except that, we copy pasted the same businesses supported and restricted terms of stripe. Reading our terms and stripe terms for supported business and local businesses is just copy-pasted data.

do you sell CBD, etc? post your terms and what they wrote you and let's see what can be improved.
I don't even know the full form of CBD, so most likely no, we don't allow any buyers to sell illegal stuff.
What country are you in?
