There has been free software to create your own on-line community for what, about 35 years now? Certainly it's possible to get the software & tech wrong - but once we got beyond the "a natural monopoly, for all the kids who can't afford to dial into a long-distance BBS" era, the software was never the real barrier to success. Quality long-term community members aren't like fake Facebook followers, where you can just buy 'em at $X per thousand from some clickshop in the far east. |
