But, it doesn't, at least not this kind of abuse. Otherwise, Musk's practices at Twitter wouldn't be newsworthy.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Once a story is reported about big tech, it won't be reported again if the only change would be a different CEO. I've never seen a story about something as large as Twitter where contacts haven't later confirmed the behavior wasn't replicated multiple places in the Valley.

Even if this was true and Twitter under Musk wasn't unusual for Silicon Valley tech firms, Silicon Valley tech firms are not typical of employers generaly, nor does working for one represent a minimum standard of what it takes to “get enough of a nest egg to give a child what it needs to thrive”.
>Even if this was true and

It is, so we can just end this conversation right there.

There are enough better jobs right now that nobody should need to subject themselves to this in order to secure a nest egg and retirement.

This kind of behavior is doing a disservice to society at large.

I’ve never had two competing offers in my life, I’m saving up for emigration.

America is going to soon resemble what’s described in the beginning of V for Vendetta, with less eye candy.
