It's a tricky idea to implement in a way that doesn't violate the "principle of least surprise". Personally, I "solve" this problem with existing settings by excluding NPR/NYT/New Yorker from my global unread feed. They belong to a category (/news) that I can choose to visit if I want to. I find myself not visiting it that often, personally. That being said, I have thought of implementing something like this. Maybe something that "aggregates" posts into 24 hour buckets, so they'll still show up in your global feed, but won't occupy 80% of the screen space any more. Curious to hear your thoughts on these ideas. |
