You can count on the numbers being at least roughly real. But it's not that encouraging: - 1M is less than 1% of Verizon customers. Terrestrial fiber and mmWave FWA will be faster and cheaper. - Scaling issues are already apparent: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/09/ookla-starlinks-... - To serve 1M customers, it takes launching about 4500 satellites to get 3500 current working satellites with a lifespan of about 5 years. Everything depends on the next gen satellites completely changing that equation. |
