Why limit yourself to Emacs, even if it might be the best desktop solution around? With Linux, Jack/PipeWire and https://github.com/eras/midihidi you can use your MIDI device with any app! Granted it doesn't do chord detection. It might actually have some "real" use cases: you could run an Amiga/C64/etc emulator, and a tracker within that, and then use this (with a proper keymap) to give it MIDI input. I didn't yet provide the ability to customize the keymaps, other than direct to source, though.. Pull requests welcome. |
