Texas is estimated to have 2-5K tigers privately owned in zoos and kept as pets. This is a terrible but legal idea, because Texas.

I can't find any estimate for a number of wild/feral tigers in TX, but it's surely not anywhere near that number.

Ah you're right, I misread. It seems that by some estimates there's more tigers in Texas than total tigers in the wild worldwide!

Which is astonishing!

I was struggling to imagine where you'd hide a few thousand tigers in the Texas wilds. My best guess was the eastern TX/LA border area swamps, but that just didn't make sense.

It'd be awesome though. :)
