I think they mean including a 4090 in a build with either CPU choice would produce a more performant computer.

Yes. And cheaper. I just ordered a Raptor Lake + 4090 configuration from a major PC builder for $3500, which is cheaper than the M1 Ultra Mac Studio.
What will you run on it that can take advantage of a just released pair of processors?

Sounds awesome; thanks for clarifying above, too.

I plan to do some ML, some VR games, and some compilation. Literally everything will be at least twice as fast as my current system, and some things will be 10x or more. I haven't upgraded in a while.
what operating system will support all that?
Not the exact same but I just built a machine for machine learning(tabular work mostly) using a Ryzen 9 5950X(16 core) and a 3060 GPU and the performance is stellar with Linux.
Either Windows or Linux can do it alone (now that Proton works well), but I use both.
Which builder out of curiosity?
Avadirect. I haven't used them before, so I'm rolling the dice. I've had iBuyPower and CyberPowerPC machines at work and wasn't impressed, so I figured I'd try a different one. Unfortunately 4090s are sold out so the order is on hold.
Ah interesting - do you save any money using one of those companies, rather than piecing it together yourself?
