Ask HN: Could AI be used to create semi-coherent code for movies?
1 points by relatedtitle 1273 days ago
I wonder if movie studios could use AI to create more realistic code or commands for movies and hacking scenes. Someone who is not technologically literate could just describe what is happening in the scene and have the AI produce realistic code or terminal outputs for what they want.

It can produce boiler-plate code right now, although the depth and integration to actual libraries and frameworks seem a bit lacking. However, I guess the question is if any movie producers or studios would actually care to make scenes showing code "more accurate." My guess is there's not much value there from the eyes of producers.
Totally tangential. Are there movies or studios that have open-sourced code or tech hardware used to make the movie?
Some studios fund Blender development, some have open-sourced rendering tools and there a few open standards and matching libraries for interop formats.
Couldn't AI just write scripts now? It couldn't be worse than anything Hollywood produces.
