Google is providing the means to ensure apps will not run on anything but Google-blessed versions of Android. If Microsoft had done the same, countless games and applications wouldn't run on WINE, and Proton and the Steam Deck wouldn't exist. Security can be implemented in ways that aren't blatantly anticompetitive, but Google chose to go down the anticompetitive route for their offerings. |
