I remember a thought of surprise at basically flinging furniture out of the way. Very much a passenger in my body at that point. This is a known phenomenon called an amygdala hijack. This emotional brain activity processes information milliseconds earlier than the rational brain, so in case of a match, the amygdala acts before any possible direction from the neocortex can be received. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amygdala_hijack |
