The US does have those unicorns, and while its great for the people that got rich off of it, I don't think its been a net societal benefit. People are conditioned to expect all software to be free. This kills the ability of long term stability for a company - and forces them to spy on the users or the usual vendor lock in. How many SMBs in the US are making decent money selling software? |
