One aspect that's being slighly neglected is that programming isn't that special - tools like ChatGPT can potentially impact any kind of knowledge work. So it's not like there's a safe white-collar career track that you can easily move to.

I'd say it's more likely to impact legal industry or any kind of data based job. Programming is more on the compute side.
