The Yamaha HS series monitors are not anyone's standard. They're simply cheap to purchase and therefore ubiquitous today in the studios of beginner music producers. Yamaha NS-10's (although relatively cheap) were standard because they represent the audio in a way that gives very clear signals about what needs to be addressed in the recording. They are unforgiving about how they represent your mix. If you have a bad mix they'll tell you. |
