Ask HN: What do you use instead of cloud personal storage (Apple/Google)?

Fairly self-explanatory. Curious what this group is using today. What they recommend for less technical folks as well who don’t want to maintain personal home severs.

I wrote this app that is a cross between a Node.js based OS and personal file sharing app. I use that to transfer large volumes of personal data between devices. I can’t get the wife and kids to use the app or get them to keep anything update so I am considering writing auto scheduling and file system volume’s synchronization.

Im using my own nextcloud. I don't go into it, because it is special in its setup.
