Not sure about the OP, but I could easily spend 3-5 months unemployed despite not being either wealthy or dependent. Up to a year if I had to and decided to budget more carefully. Mostly comes to low cost of living in my country + being reasonably frugal + slowly building my savings over time. (Though note that I don't have kids yet, if I had children my calculations would be totally different.) |
