Yes. I've also grown tired of it. I used to spend nights and weekends learning, testing out new languages, starting (never finishing) side projects. I'd often work on actual work items after hours out of excitement, and it would even pay off.

I have noticed that the larger the company I work for, the higher the position, the more the pay... the worse it became. I'm inundated with process, planning, and "teamwork" where it used to be mostly solo problem solving and execution. Is this really how it is at a big successful tech company?

I need to go back to a startup or less mature but "still having their shit together" company.
