I've become more attuned to my ADHD + autism audio sensory challenges lately. Interestingly, I've noticed my issue seems to be more about attention than presence of unwanted sound. Wearing bone-conducting headphones (which don't cover my ears or block sounds) is just as beneficial for my mental state as ANC headphones, as long as ambient sounds aren't loud enough to outcompete my headphones on volume. All I really need is to give my brain something I want to hear instead of something I'm trying to shut out. |
