Disney did buy Marvel, but as with Pixar and Lucasfilm, the heads of each seem to get a decent amount of leeway to operate as they want.

I really doubt that kind of stuff passes the cut without approval from Disney executives. Have you watched Eternals?

I did. Not great, not terrible. Unlike, say, Love & Thunder, which was actually bad (especially after Ragnarok, which I enjoyed).
