The lawsuit from the previous management was to force Musk to go through with the sale when he tried to go back on the deal, they didn't make any attempt to stop the sale because they knew he was paying an absurd price. I don't know that the board had much of a choice though, the best fiduciary sense for all current stockholders was to let him buy the company, what happens after that is of no concern to them. It's the perverse reality when a corporation only exists to make money for the shareholders. |
