The original 420 joke was about Tesla: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1026872652290379776. It got him into trouble with the SEC. He did set the share price for his Twitter offer to 54.20 as a reference to that, but it wasn't the cause for his offer for the company. I think quite a lot of people are conflating the two events. |
