THC is fat-soluble. One common method of extracting THC for use in edibles is to immerse the marijuana in melted butter and then use the THC-infused butter to cook/prepare the edibles. I discovered this when I had bad complications after gallbladder removal - my pancreas got infected & necrotic. Eating too much fat would cause an acute attack of pancreatitis. For treatment of chronic pain after that surgery-gone-wrong, I have to get my pain meds from a pain clinic. At least 3 times per year, I have to take a urinalysis drug-screen to ensure that: 0. I'm taking my meds and not selling them, and 1. I'm not taking other drugs like THC, meth (my state's #1 illegal drug of choice!) or whatever is popular these days. Anti-nausea meds like Zofran & Reglan metabolize into something that standard drug screens think is THC. I almost got kicked from the program because of this. I bet that if I walked past a drug-sniffing police-dog that it would have either a seizure or an orgasm. |
