No. 20 years ago people created personal websites because it was a creative endeavor for creative personalities. Creative people are a population minority. Social media took over as the internet population grew because most people value immediate gratification more than personal expression. I wish there was deep profound social, economic, or behavioral issues at play, but there aren’t. Some people want to build things and others just want to shout into a void or stare at those who do. |
