I'd like to see these now rated for leakage by monitoring, maybe even shorting half the sample. As far as I can tell, all cells now leak, while before it was some cells and aggravated with constant discharge.

Edit: Because I would like to know if I can trust any (other than rechargeable or perhaps Li) cells not to destroy my toys.

Eneloops don't leak and are my choice, even for clocks or remote controls. Using them for many years now, without leakage.
