If this really is him, the conspiracy buff would say it's an intermediate stop on the way to a place without an extradition treaty with the USA.

If you have money, Argentina will do anything for you. Gotta have money though. They're not gonna help you out just for the lolz, like Russia.

He doesn’t really understand the law very well.

They don’t deport (think Nazies and other scum that run away there)

There seems to be an extradition treaty US-Argentina though https://www.congress.gov/treaty-document/105th-congress/18

Here is an example of Argentina extraditing someone to the US:

He was charged in 2003 and extridited in 2015. Twelve years of evading justice is a pretty long time for someone wanted for murder.

He didn't even have a lot of money either.
