My experience is that Facebook Messenger is the most popular in Denmark.

Now that I think of it, I use Facebook Messenger quite a lot as well. In fact, probably more than iMessage/SMS so you're right.

Anecdotally, this is true in Sweden as well. Especially in the 25+ demographic.

Agreed, I lived in Copenhagen and I had to sign up for Messenger to chat with new friends there.
