@yishan doesn't mention the most obvious solution — let the public vote on content. Wait, Twitter and Reddit already have voting mechanisms in place? What's wrong with them? Oh, they semi-secretly sell access to their voting mechanisms and allow unscrupulous entities to manipulate vote counts to astroturf? Oh... The real problem is the lack of transparency as platforms fight tooth and nail to retain total control over content while appearing to foster freedom of speech. |
