My experience is totally different: Both from my experience as employee, and on the hiring side. Primarily, the employees are pushing for working overtime. There are a few reasons: 1. Many just don't do anything at all in the extra hours (remote workers are especially prone to this)
2. Some people want the overtime pay, and do not care about the reduced productivity
3. Some people just use the time to learn new stuff, I must admit I did that myself as a developer. Though, I always learned stuff relevant to work.
4. Some people do not have much life outside work, been there myself Very seldom is it management who really pushes for overtime in mye experience. IMO the scale at which employees "fuck" employees, is much larger than the other way around. Context: I am in my mid twenties and have employed around 50 people in the nordic countries+ |
