I wish articles like this would reference the antitrust lawsuit over collusion to artificially keep software engineer salaries low in the 2000s. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/apr/24/apple-goo... I also don't see any references to scale. Your labor can impact the lives of x people as a lawyer, where you're constrained by the amount of hours in a day and geographical location. As a software engineer, your labor can easily impact x^6, or even more if you work for a technology market leader. |
