For history. We're at time where SaaS is ascendant and CI/CD tools are everywhere. This means that to patch a bug, you fix the code, commit it, and then it magically makes it way to production, within like an hour, sometimes less. Customers are interacting with your product via a web browser, so they refresh the page and receive the new version of the software. Compared to times of old, with physical media and software that needed installing, it's ridiculously easier. |
