I wonder how this affects Rings of Power budget. It cost $462m to produce season 1 and another $600m for the license and marketing.

Season 2 might have a much lower budget.

As both an LotR fan and a Prime member, I would have enjoyed a lower Prime membership cost than having to pay for Rings of Power.

I doubt there is any impact in reality, but Amazon might find it a convenient excuse to make some unpopular budget cuts they already had planned.
