it's the same on Fedora. I use Fedora Gnome with Pop Shell. works great.

hopefully they keep maintaining it for gnome after they release cosmic.

I tried pop shell on fedora and ran into bugs. Trying to get nvidia drivers to work crashed the system so I just went back to pop
