Everyone is different, so it's hard to tell if someone's recommendation fits another person. Here's what I do though to manage my experience. I have a private list (that no-one can see) and add only a select group of people. That list changes over time as my own interests and other people change too. This weeds out destructive and negative content and helps interact with interesting people.
