In this particular case I think Tailscale has been discussed thoroughly enough on Hacker News in the past that it's OK that they didn't include the "what is Tailscale" bit (https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu...) - but I agree, it's always better to start a blog entry with a reminder.
