We already have self driving cars. We call it public transport.

Doesn't allow point to point. I lose about 5 hours a week due to cycling and using public transport.

Yet remove all the cycling and public transport and everybody's journey would be slower due to the road filling up with traffic.

Then public transit should be built to wherever you live. given the amount of investment to self driving cars and maintenance of roads that are way bigger than they should be, we could be using that capital for transit.

I live in the UK, investment in giant roads and self driving cara isn't a thing here, but the gov still consumes half of gdp.

The idea is to have private transportation, some of us like the peace and quiet.

If you like private transport, then you should be doing whatever you can to get as many people as possible to use public transport so there’s less traffic on the road for you.
