Yes, I do realize this. I'm arguing that people's privilege is theirs. It's not yours to redistribute as you see fit. The situation you're describing is reality - an inevitable consequence of human social biology. When you belong to a minority, you navigate the world on the majority's terms. This is true everywhere but only in the US do people seem to get bent of of shape about it. The saying is "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". How would you mutilate this phrase so that it conforms to your worldview? |
