> 1. Ukraine confirms its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Japan, including the Northern Territories, which are still under occupation by the Russian Federation.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan on the establishment of diplomatic relations (in the form of an exchange of letters) dated January 26, 1992, in its activities, proceed from the position specified in Article 1 of this Decree. The Northern Territories are an integral part of the sovereign territory of Japan.
