Agreed. I've been wanting them and used them just a small amount thus far. There's some rough edges that will likely be smoothed out over time. All in all, they're a welcome addition and quite easy to ignore if you don't need/like them.

One other side effect, now that Go has generics, we can all stop talking about them. Use them or don't. :)

That's the best part about it, at least on HN, no more flamewars. 6 months later, its just professionals and hobbyists going about their normal business, the dreaded apocalypse didn't come to pass.
