Yes, I hope so. I was very surprised to see such a theory coming from someone that once was a US general - I guess a bluff could always provide a little deterrence. Perhaps a more realistic scenario could be NATO forces entering Ukraine, but keeping out from the front-line, highlighting that there will be consequences of a strike on any of their soldiers on the territory of Ukraine. If they don't do anything, it's going to be a big win for Russia and encouragement to go further.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO, and NATO armies moving into Ukraine is way too dangerous (nuclear escalation), so it is quite unlikely.

That said, if I were a member of wagner PMC, whatever is my location in the world, I would get the first flight to russia...

Usage of nuclear weapon in any capacity will be not tolerated by US.

US has directly told to Putin what will be the retaliation. This means that the retaliation will be something that US believes will deter Putin to use a nuclear weapon.

It is obvious that nothing but military destruction will intimidate Putin, so it can't be anything less than that.
