If you think that your job is to translate requirements from Jira into code that passes unit tests and ticks the functional requirements - maybe not. If you think that your job is to create interfaces that people don't hate using – maybe yes. When I look at candidates for a frontend developer position, design instinct is definitely a major plus. That said, I would not expect them to be able to build mockups in Figma or conduct qualitative user research. |
