It’s a misleading argument. People can be trained on the job for many things and that’s how it’s historically worked. Lowering the bar is not needed or helpful. People who are so incapable that these jobs are their peak potential should probably just be on social programs. |

(I had a family member, since passed, who was significantly mentally handicapped by a difficult birth sequence. She loved nothing more than to feel like she was included and being helpful to the limits of her ability.)
