Funny - I thought the Cameron government was extremely ideological. Osborne wasn't thick, he must have realised the damage that austerity would do in a recession. Debt was extremely manageable going into the 08 recession. Interest rates were nearly zero. I always viewed it as a cynical way to weaken labour. |
