Ask HN: Tips, tools, for a “solopreneur” building side project on free time?

Hello friends!

I would like to start a conversation here, looking for tips, links, good practices, knowledge sharing, good free tools (do you work like sprints? do you use asana/jira? etc), and whatever else you want to talk about, that helped you on this path of working out an idea _alone_.

Last question: How do you overcome the tireness of a full time job to work on your idea?

I had been struggling for this for last 2 years, came up with couple of systems and nothing ever worked. I eventually figured out, its all about habits and little pre-planning. I have only 3 hours in the morning free to work on ideas, specially after marriage, I work around 90mins to 120mins based on if I am WFH or going to office. I plan vaguely what I have to do for the week, and plan little more detailed before going to bed. Its been working fine for last few months. I am currently not building any product, but working towards it.

I'm almost in the same boat. Maybe finding a 4 day work week job should help us to get more time to develop our projects. Good luck!
