I might be the only Swatch employee on HN, so I believe this deserves my comment.
The concept of Internet Time is genius. Swatch even wanted to send a satellite to space and with that be able to synchronize the time on all the watches. As others have said, I also think the issue was basing the time on Biel (GMT+1). If it had been done on another timezone, it would have worked better. Mr. Hayek (the Swatch founder) was a genius ahead of his time. |
